Our Engineers always begin with a complete system mapping and tuning session. This is important when we provide the system and it is used to match up with any computer models we have made, but it is even more important when we are using the venue's existing system. Many venues unfortunately have been neglecting their sound systems for many years, but they still get used since they offer low rates. When our engineers walk into a space like that they come fully prepared to make whatever improvements and modifications can be used to maximize the quality of the production.
Many of our projects will be personally mixed by the founder of 3rdOctave, James Hunt. He has over a decade of experience behind the console for theatrical productions ranging from intimate solo cabaret to full cast musicals with orchestra and dozens of wireless mics. Although equally at home on analog and digital equipment, we at 3rdOctave embrace the digital age we are in, and love to take full advantage of the improvements in control and repeatability that digital consoles provide. We also take advantage of computer modeling such as SOUNDVISION to accurately predict the sound quality at every seat in the venue. We have been trained by Sennheiser in advanced wireless technology and usage.
